Jupiter Performance Studio is pleased to announce “es” as a 2026 Ritualist in Residence.

Biography: Ebony Monae Webster has been going as Es these days. Es is an Afro Caribbean; all encompassing, all embracing, all inclusive, womb being, belonging to first herself as God and then God themselves. Ebony is an embodied performance artist called to guide the ascension of the collective consciousness into the new paradigm through: artistic expression that explores the body as a portal, black liberation, afro-futurism, multidimensional spirituality, memory as a healing technology; by being quiet and being loud.

Most recent professional history includes: Associate Choreographer/Artist with Ebony Golden’s Jupiter Performance Studio, Arts and Survival Fellow with Stacy Klein’s Double Edge Theater( co/JPS), Rehearsal Director/Artist with Andrè Zachery’s Renegade Performance Company, Guest Artist and former dancer with Abdel Salaam’s Forces of Nature Dance Theater. Ebony carries the legacy of Dr. Kariamu Welsh and the Umfundalai dance technique under the M’Tinga Wuti Certification and as a former Kariamu and Company dancer and demonstrator. Ebony earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography from Temple University. Outside of her performance career, Ebony also holds a NASM personal training certification, and 500 hr RYT (yoga teacher) certification. Ebony uses the technology of tarot for intuitive guided messages and the integration of our human and soul experiences.

About the Program: JPS’ Ritualist in Residence program is a critical component of its Watering (W)hole Engagement Cosmology. Residents are chosen by nominations only and receive a rest retreat with housing, stipend, food, field excursions and support with a project that centers ecowomanist praxis.

JPS’ Ritualist in Residence program is a critical component of its Watering (W)hole Engagement Cosmology. Watering (W)hole is rooted in cultural magic, community organizing, social rituals healing, remembering, and creative emancipation. The cosmology advances movements for climate reparations and ecowomanist visions for planetary thriving. Designed as an in-person and virtual experience, Watering (W)hole is based in dreaming, devising, relationship weaving, resource-sharing, and creative emancipation. Watering (W)hole’s goal is to creatively, spiritually, and intellectually invest in impactful movements climate reparations and environmental justice for, with and in Black, Indigenous and global majority communities.
